
Grand Staircase Escalante National
Monument
Utah's newest national monumnet, encompassing 1.7 million acres of spectacular
countryside, located 30 miles southeast of Panguitch, Utah. The monument
extends form Bryce Canyon on the west to Lake Powell on the south and Capitol
Reef on the east. The area is one of the largest undeveloped wilderness
areas in the lower 48 states. The monument varies greatly in elevation and
topography. Accomodations and campgrounds are available in surrounding communities.
